1) New Staffing Agency Contracts


The employment team in HR negotiates contracts with temporary staffing agencies to meet the needs of departments across the University on a biennial basis. This year, Lehigh has selected the following companies to provide temporary staffing services:

2) Telehealth is Here

Lehigh health insurance subscribers are now able to use online medical care, also known as telehealth. Capital Blue Cross, Lehigh’s health insurance provider, offers telehealth services through American Well Corporation (Amwell).


Telehealth is a supplemental benefit based on remote access technology like the internet. It’s a simple, affordable service. Your copay will be $10 regardless of which medical plan you are currently enrolled in.  During your video appointment, a licensed physician can make a diagnosis and often can send a prescription directly to your pharmacy to be filled.


Telehealth can be a good option when your medical concern is routine or minor and visiting a doctor or urgent care is inconvenient. It can also be handy if you are having trouble getting an appointment with your regular doctor, or if you are out of town.

3) Petplan Benefit Update


Petplan, the voluntary pet insurance benefit offered by Lehigh through Capital Blue Cross, has changed its benefits and included new services. New Petplan perks include:


  • PetHub digital wearble pet ID tag to all new policyholders
  • “Fetch a Vet,” a 24/7 veterinary helpline


Pet insurance covers nearly all veterinary expenses with the exception of chronic pre-existing conditions and preventive care visits. Learn more about benefits changes and more on the HR website.
