1)    Coming Soon To A Mailbox Near You: Coordination of Benefits Forms

If you have a spouse, partner or dependents covered on your Lehigh medical plan, you may have already received a form at home regarding the Coordination of Benefits (COB). Last year, we began sending this questionnaire to all employees who cover family members under their Lehigh medical plan. You can read more about COB in this December 2012 Spotlight article.

By completing and returning the COB form, you help Lehigh contain health care costs and ensure that the correct medical plan takes initial responsibility for a claim. It is essential that you complete and return the form as quickly as possible. If you don’t, your insurance claims could be delayed and/or rejected until Capital Blue Cross has your information.

2)    Donate, Don’t Dump It!

Lehigh’s Community Service Office is hard at work on the annual effort to help students move out sustainably. But you don’t have to be a student to donate! If you have working usable items that can be re-used that you no longer need, you are encouraged to donate as well. Here is a list of items they will accept:

  • clothing
  • household and kitchen items
  • storage items
  • linens
  • rugs
  • shoes
  • small appliances
  • small furniture
  • unopened (non-perishable) food
  • school supplies
  • household cleaning supplies

Items can be dropped off at the Windish Hall, 321 East Packer Avenue, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm until May 30.

Items collected are sold at the Great South Side Sale to benefit children and youth programs of South Bethlehem. If you’d like more information about donating, volunteering or the Great South Side Sale, email inmove@lehigh.edu.

3)    Campus Square Market Returns

The first Thursday in May heralded the return of the Bethlehem Farmers’ Market in Campus Square. The weather cooperated, and many Lehigh employees, students and community members stopped by to pick up delicious baked goods, spring produce, and lunch from the local vendors.

The market will be open every Thursday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm through October. There will be musical guests and other fun surprises throughout the season, so be sure plan a weekly visit.
