1)    We Love Invitations Here in HR…

Did you know that HR takes its show on the road? Our team is happy to visit departments and share information about workplace learning, the retirement plan, wellness, tuition benefits and more.

The quieter summer months might be the perfect opportunity for you to add us to your agenda. Let us join your team during one of your regularly scheduled staff meetings, or we can plan a separate get-together.  Contact Mary Jo McNulty to get started.

2)    Staff And Faculty Discount On Summer Athletics Camps

Lehigh summer athletics camps are a great convenient way to keep your kids active over vacation. Camps are led by Lehigh staff and student athletes. There are dozens of sessions for children of all ages, and they cover almost every sport you can think of.

Best of all, Lehigh employees receive a ten percent discount on the camp registration fee.  All you need to do is use the coupon code LUSD when registering your child.

Want to know more? Go to the Lehigh Athletics Camps and Clinics Facebook page or website.

3)    Go To Summer School!

With the academic year winding down, we wanted to remind you that summer is a great time to focus on your professional development. There are two educational benefits in particular that might be especially useful during the summer.

Lehigh employees may take up to two undergraduate courses per summer at the member institutions of LVAIC, the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges. This includes Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College. You don’t need to be working on a degree to take classes, and they don’t have to directly relate to your work. Visit the HR website for more information about to use this benefit.

If you’re interested in a professional development opportunity, the BEST program is for you. The BEST Program offers a training subsidy of 75 percent - up to a maximum of $500 - of the cost of employee enrollment in noncredit programs. Your department is responsible for the balance of the cost. BEST is different from your tuition benefits in that programs or courses must be job-related. Remember, your supervisor must approve the expenditure and your time away from work.

For more information about the BEST program, contact Mary Jo McNulty.
