1. #Giving Tuesday

First there was "Black Friday," then "Cyber Monday" and now there's a chance to think about the greater good, by taking part in "Giving Tuesday.”

According to the United Way, last year, more than 27,000 organizations in 68 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities.

We know there are lots of ways the Lehigh community helps others, and we want to know all about them. So on Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2015, the Inside Lehigh page will be taken over with social media posts that are tagged #LehighGiving!

Is your office adopting a family, organizing a food drive, or volunteering somewhere? Are you donating any clothes, toys or food to the needy? If so, be sure to tag your Tweets or Instagram posts with #LehighGiving to spread the word and inspire your fellow staff and faculty.

2. Show Us Your Brown and White!

Have you been joining in the fun and spirit of Brown and White Fridays? Remember, the celebration of Lehigh’s sesquicentennial lasts all academic year, so you can don your best gear every Friday until commencement.

We want to see how great you and your co-workers look in your Lehigh finest! Send photos of your team in brown and white to hik210@lehigh.edu so we can share your Lehigh Pride in Spotlight and Work/Life Lehigh.

3. Get More Savvy About Managing Your Money

Lehigh HR offers financial planning and retirement savings seminars throughout the year, but we know it’s not always convenient. This fall, we’ve partnered with our retirement savings plan administrator, TIAA-CREF to offer a webinar you can watch on your schedule.

"Inside Money: Managing Income and Debt," is part of the Financial Essentials series from TIAA-CREF. In this webinar, you’ll learn the big picture of budgeting and the importance of cash flow. You’ll find out the real impact of budgeting and debt — and how to help make your money work. The presenter will also help you identify good and bad debt and ways to help manage it.

To watch the webinar, go to the HR website homepage and click on the “TIAA-CREF Money Management Webinar” link. The link will be available through the end of 2015.
