You are here

Thursday, March 14, 2013

Our spring HealthSCAN event will take place April 10, 11 and 12 this year. Registration is now open. You can download the forms in either Word or PDF format.

HealthSCAN is a personal, preventive health screening that may determine if you have current or potential health problems. The process involves a quick and relatively painless blood draw.

You will need to fast for 12 hours prior to your blood draw, but you’ll be rewarded with a continental breakfast afterwards. And, it could make a big difference to your future.

Lehigh employees are eligible for one free screening per year as part of the benefits program. Retirees as well as employee spouses/partners can also participate in the screening at full cost (currently $55).

Your blood will be analyzed for symptoms of:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Gout
  • Liver
  • Kidney disease

In addition, you will receive a Complete Blood Count (CBC) as well as HDL (good) and LDL (bad) cholesterol levels. You can also have thyroid and prostate screenings done for an additional fee.

Test results are strictly confidential. Only you will receive your results. Quest Diagnostics conducts the program. If you cannot attend one of the three days in April, you can also schedule a time with Quest Diagnostics to take advantage of this benefit.
