1) Crucial Conversations: Space Still Available

There are a still a few open slots in the upcoming Crucial Conversations class led by Human Resources’ Judy Zavalydriga. Crucial Conversations is a multi-day course that teaches skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics.

By learning how to speak and be heard (and encouraging others to do the same), you begin to surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions, and then act on those decisions with unity and commitment.

Lehigh offers Crucial Conversations in three half-day sessions over the course of a month. Each week, the material builds so that by the end, you are ready to plan and engage in productive dialogue with colleagues at all levels.

The fall 2015 Crucial Conversations class will meet November 19, December 3 and December 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

3) New Web Resources For Diversity and Inclusion

A re-vamped website for the Council for Equity and Community launched earlier this month along with refreshed pages for all of the university’s diversity and inclusion efforts.

The CEC’s site features the council’s new blog as well as opportunities for involvement. The council invites members of the Lehigh community visit the blog and join the conversation. If you would like to submit a blog post, you can contact Trish Boyles via email.

The Diversity and Inclusion website includes a wide range of resources, and updates on the variety of work being done in every corner of campus to create a more inclusive and welcoming Lehigh.
