1)    Important Flexible Spending Account Deadline Approaching

If you have a Dependent Care or Health Care FSA, March 31, 2015 is your last opportunity to submit expenses that you incurred during the 2014 plan year for reimbursement.

There are two possible outcomes to not submitting your expenses. If you have a Health Care FSA you can potentially roll up to $500 from the 2014 account into a 2015 account. Any unclaimed amount above $500 will be forfeited. If you have a Dependent Care FSA, however, you will forfeit anything you don’t claim before March 31.

2)    Don’t Lose Out: Check Your Vacation Accrual

Do you know about how vacation accrual carry over works? We’ve explained it in more depth here, but the bottom line is, you can only carry over as many vacation hours as you would typically earn in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). The rest goes away if you don’t use it up.

With the fiscal year coming to a close on June 30, now is the perfect time to check in with your vacation balance to make sure you don’t leave any of your precious time off  on the table. To see how much time you have left, go to Banner from the portal. After logging in, select the Employee link and then the Current Time Off Balances link. If you have any questions about how to correctly read your balance, you can contact Mary Jo McNulty via email or at extension 83894.

3)    Save the Date! The Lehigh Appreciation Dinner is Coming Soon

Spring is nearly here, and with it, our annual celebration of Lehigh staff and faculty. Be sure to save the date of Tuesday May 5. We’ll be gathering in Stabler Arena beginning at 4:00 p.m. for the event, which includes the Lehigh University Awards as well as recognition of this year’s retirees.

We are often asked if spouses and partners are invited to the Appreciation Dinner. Award recipients and new retirees may bring their spouse or partner to the event. Due to space constraints, however, we cannot allow additional guests.
