Changes in Long Term Care Insurance Coming

Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Lehigh’s long term care insurance provider, Genworth, is closing the current plan to new enrollees. For current enrollees, nothing will change.

Long term care insurance is designed to pay for covered expenses incurred for long term care services whether received at home, in the community, or in a nursing facility. Newly hired Lehigh employees may buy this coverage at competitive group rates with no medical underwriting, depending on your age and selected plan, during the first 30 days of employment.

Because the plan is changing, current employees will also have the opportunity to enroll in the program during a special enrollment period from November 14 – December 16.

If you would like to enroll in the new plan, you will want to learn more about its features, requirements and cost. To help you, Genworth will be joining us on campus for informational sessions on Wednesday, November 30 and Thursday, December 1.

Sessions will take place at the following times:

Wednesday, November 30
9:30 – 10:30 am
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
