It’s College Decision Time: Know Your Benefits

Tuition Cash Grant for Exempt Staff and Faculty

If you are an exempt staff or faculty member and have a child attending a college or university other than Lehigh for undergraduate studies in the fall, you may be eligible for the annual Tuition Cash Grant benefit. The benefit does vary depending on when you began your employment at Lehigh, so you will want to review the information provided on the HR websiteIf you are eligible, please contact Betty Konczyk from the HR team to get the process started so that you can take advantage of the benefit.

Lehigh Tuition Remission

Our tuition remission benefit for dependents includes undergraduate and graduate study. There are a few eligibility requirements and conditions you should be aware of. Visit the HR website for those details. Staff and faculty who have dependents or spouse/partners planning to attend Lehigh this fall (or summer) should reach out to Betty as well.

Be aware that if you or your family member enrolls in a distance education course, you will be responsible for paying the technical and course support fees that are assessed for these courses. For more information, see the Distance Education Tuition Remission Policy on their website.

Have You Seen Our Billboard?

If you’ve been on route 22 lately between the Airport Road and Fullerton Avenue exits lately, you may have seen a familiar face. Denise Beautreau of the Chemistry department is featured on our first billboard promoting careers at Lehigh.

As the 11-week campaign moves ahead, look for other Lehigh community members as well. Our goal is to encourage qualified candidates from across the region and beyond to consider careers at Lehigh.

If you see our billboards and can SAFELY take a photo, we would love for you to share it with us. Email it to hik210@lehigh.edu or post it on Twitter, mentioning @WorkLifeLehigh.

Paperless Direct Deposit Coming Soon

Last month, we told you that paperless direct deposit of paycheck will become the default for all faculty and staff in May.

For existing faculty and staff participating in direct deposit who are not already enrolled in the paperless option, the Payroll Office will convert you to paperless direct deposit effective for your May 2016 pay if they don’t receive your opt-out communication by April 30.  Effective May 1, new hires enrolling in direct deposit will be defaulted to paperless direct deposit unless they select to opt out on the Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement.

If you have any questions concerning the payroll information, please feel free to contact the Payroll Office at extension 82900 or by email at inpayrol@lehigh.edu for assistance.
